Cancellation policy
This policy applies where you purchase a product from The Health Sciences Academy Ltd ("THSA") using a Subscription or an Installment Plan. These are different types of purchase arrangement and have different cancellation rules.
Subscriptions
A Subscription provides continuing or renewable access in return for recurring payments. The applicable billing period, renewal terms, minimum term, if any, and cancellation arrangements will be shown before purchase.
You may cancel a Subscription in accordance with the cancellation terms provided for that Subscription and any statutory rights that apply.
Unless the specific Subscription terms state otherwise, cancelling a Subscription:
- prevents future renewal and recurring charges after the cancellation takes effect;
- may end access at the end of the period already paid for;
- does not retrospectively cancel a period of access already supplied; and
- does not automatically entitle you to a refund of fees already due or paid.
Any statutory cancellation or refund rights remain unaffected.
Installment Plans
An Installment Plan is not a Subscription.
When you choose an Installment Plan, you are purchasing the relevant Course, product or Service for the full Purchase Price shown at checkout and choosing to spread that fixed financial commitment across a number of scheduled payments.
You cannot cancel the underlying purchase simply by cancelling or stopping future payments.
Unless a statutory right applies, you qualify for a refund under our Refund Policy, or THSA expressly agrees otherwise in writing, scheduled installments cannot be cancelled, paused, reduced, shortened, rescheduled or otherwise changed unilaterally.
Cancelling a card, direct debit, recurring payment authority or other payment method, ceasing to access the Course, or deciding not to continue your studies does not cancel the outstanding Purchase Price.
If your circumstances change and you would like THSA to consider an adjustment to your Installment Plan, please contact us. Requests will be considered individually, but any change takes effect only once expressly agreed and confirmed by THSA in writing.
14-Day Refund Guarantee
Where expressly offered with an eligible Course, THSA provides a voluntary 14-Day Refund Guarantee in addition to your statutory rights.
To qualify for this change-of-mind guarantee:
- your request must be received within 14 calendar days of the original purchase date; and
- you must have completed no more than 3 Course modules.
Both conditions must be satisfied. Additional fair-use and eligibility conditions apply, including restrictions where a Course has been substantially completed, a final assessment has been completed, substantial Paid Content has been downloaded or retained, or the guarantee has otherwise been misused.
For a Course purchased through an Installment Plan, the 14-day period begins on the original purchase date. It does not restart each time an installment is collected.
If an eligible refund is approved, any remaining installments relating solely to that refunded purchase will be cancelled. Otherwise, the Installment Plan remains payable according to the agreed schedule.
Statutory cancellation rights
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory consumer rights.
Where digital content is supplied immediately, you may be asked before access is provided to expressly consent to immediate supply and acknowledge that your statutory cancellation right may be lost once supply begins, where permitted by law. THSA's voluntary 14-Day Refund Guarantee is separate from those statutory rights.
How to request a cancellation or change
Please contact THSA through our Contact page with your order details and the Subscription, Installment Plan or purchase concerned.
A request to cancel a Subscription or change an Installment Plan is not effective merely because a request has been submitted. We will confirm the outcome and, where applicable, the effective cancellation or change date.
This policy should be read together with our full Terms and Conditions and Refund Policy. Where there is any inconsistency, the Terms and Conditions and any product-specific terms applicable to your purchase will apply, subject always to your mandatory statutory rights.
